Project Lead – Step 2 Adult Service for People Affected by Substance Use
(2x positions)
We are recruiting for a Project Lead in the Southern Trust and Northern Trust areas to provide clinical oversight and case consultation to the team of counsellors within the Step 2 Adult Substance Use Service. The Project Lead will be involved in the design, implementation, and evaluation of the Step 2 service in collaboration with the Step 2 Service Manager. The role combines direct clinical work, with an oversight of client need and service delivery for the specified lot area (North or South), maintaining a strong focus on early intervention, recovery, and wellbeing.
Contracted Hours: 37.5 hours/week (negotiable).

Multiple Counsellor Posts Available - Step 2 Adult Substance Use Service
We are recruiting for several posts across the Southern and Northern Trust areas to deliver high-quality, evidence-based counselling and therapeutic interventions to Adults experiencing problematic substance use and Individuals affected by the substance use of others.
Contracted Hours: 20–25 hours per week (negotiable).

Administrator P/time (20-25 Hrs/Wk)
We are recruiting for an Administrator to provide administrative support duties within the Step 2 Adult Substance Use Service, ensuring the smooth and effective delivery of the service. Alongside service-specific responsibilities, the postholder will also contribute as part of the wider administration team, undertaking general administrative duties to support the overall work of the organisation. The role will be based at the Links office in Lurgan.

student placement expectations
Expectations of the student volunteer position;
Flexibility to build up client hours – clients will be assigned when deemed most suitable to a student counsellor. Flexibility is required to help you accrue your hours.
To carry a minimum caseload of 3 clients (when approved by course tutor/ supervisor/placement mentor)
Manage communication between administration and clients
Students will be expected to have external supervision which will be at a cost to the student.
Links Counselling Service must approve the most appropriate external supervisor and will provide you with a list of options.
Students will keep open dialogue with their line manager/ mentor and partake in line -management meetings.
Maintain client notes on database and measurement tools
Work in accordance to Links Counselling Service Policies and Procedures
Reliability and consistency to meet the weekly needs of client sessions.
Have general administration skills i.e. photocopying, IT skills
Be part of a team and participate in team meetings, training and social engagements
Work under the ethos of Links Counselling service, aligning to the core values and principals of our mission statement and our vision for community transformation.
Essential Criteria
Undergoing a recognised counselling qualification (minimum diploma)
Have suitable insurance to cover malpractice
Will have a minimum of 10 hours personal therapy completed before taking on client work.
Registered with BACP as a member (or equivalent i.e. UKCP, BAAT, IACP, BABCP
Professional mannerisms
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work using own initiative
Excellent communication skills
Completion of enhance disclosure clearance through Access NI
Good time management
Desirable Criteria
An understanding of mental health and the impact on families, adults and children
Experience of working within a confidential environment and upholding ethical principals
A willingness to learn and enhance knowledge with training opportunities
Have experience of working within a team
This role will be time flexible to suit the needs of the applicant, however, we expect reasonable flexibility to work with the client’s needs first and foremost.
Our Service in most areas operate from 9am - 9pm, Monday-Thursday and Friday from 9.30am-1pm.
A trial period of 3 months is offered and a review of the position will be ongoing.
